Play With Kwara Youths a sports-based establishment aimed at bringing Kwara youths together, not minding the political parties or affiliations and tribes has shut the registration portal that was announced opened from 23rd May – 4th June, 2023.

The initiative designed to strengthen unity, and peace and build a formidable society received 135 entries in less than two weeks.

Out of the 135 entries that were received, 126 (93.3%) and 9 (6.7%) were male and female respectively. Emphatically, 129 (95.56%) are from Kwara while 6 (4.44%) are non-Kwarans, belonging to Osun, Oyo and Ekiti states.

Obeying the public demand for the introduction of more sports activities in PWKY, the organizer deems it expedient to introduce Table Tennis, Sack Race, Ludo/Whot and Football. However, from the pool of entries received, 105 (77.8%) applied for Football while 15 (11.1%), 7 (5.2&), 3 (2.2%) and 5 (3.7%) showed interest in Ludo/Whot, Table Tennis, Sack Race and Scrabble respectively.

It’s important to stress that Play With Kwara Youths 2.0 enjoyed a wide spread across local government areas in Kwara state. Notably, applicants from the various local governments in the state include Ilorin West 77 (57%), Ilorin East 15 (11.1%), Ilorin South 13 (9.6%), Asa 6 (4.4%) and Ifelodun 7 (5.2%).

Other local governments are
Irepodun 1 (0.7%), Offa 4 (3%), Oke-Ero 1 (0.7%), Oyun 2 (1.5%) Ekiti 1 (0.7%), Patigi 2 (1.5%), Edu 2 (1.5%), Kaiaama 1 (0.7%), Moro 2 (1.5%) and Baruten 1 (0.7%).

Lastly, we are pleased to inform the public that efforts are in top gear to organize another seamless and brilliant edition of Play With Kwara Youths. Also, the venue and time remain unchanged. We appreciate and hope to watch your overwhelming performance on the 1st of July, 2023 at the Sports Base, University of Ilorin Gate, Tanke Area, Ilorin. Between 12:00pm 7:00 pm
