Deputy House leader in the Kwara state House of Assembly , Honorable John Olarenwaju Bello has commended the Kwara State Government led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for the prompt response to the plight of flood ravaged communities in Jebba, Moro Local Government area of Kwara state.
Honorable John Olarenwaju Bello who represents Lawan/Ejidongari constituency gave the commendation during the distribution of palliative to 400 households affected by flood in Fangan and Ipata communities in Jebba.
According to the House of Assembly member, the donation of the palliative in collaboration with the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) and the visitation by government officials which was led by Kale Belgore, SA & Counsellor to the Governor and Engr Afolabi Mahmoud, to sympathise with the residents is unprecedented.
John Bello however called for the urgent dredging of the river Niger.
Other residents of Fangan and Ipata communities in Jebba who spoke with newsmen thanked their representative at the kwara state house of Assembly for constantly identifying with them.
The palliative given to the residents include 5kgbags of Semovita, 10kgRice, 5kgSugar, 1kgSalt and 2carton of noodles per house hold.
