The Nigeria Football Federation has announced new Super Falcons Head Coach, Mr Randy Waldrum.

The American tactician has over the years built a career as a professional women’s soccer coach. In 2004 and 2010, he led the Notre Dame women’s soccer team to two national championships. He was appointed the head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago national team between 2014 and 2016. Until his latest appointment, Waldrum was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Panthers women’s soccer team.

He will work with former Super Falcons’ goalkeeper and captain Ann Chiejine, who is the first Assistant Coach, while Wemimo Mathew Olanrewaju will serve as second Assistant Coach and Auwar Bashir Makwalla will be goalkeepers’ trainer.

Speaking on the appointment, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick thanked Philips Consulting, the executors of the recruitment process, and said he was confident that the new technical crew will take the Super Eagles to brand new heights.

The predominance of the Super Falcons on the African continent has never been in doubt, with nine titles out of 11 editions of the Women AFCON competitions held so far. We envision a new Super Falcons squad competing favourably for laurels at the global level, and I believe the new technical crew led by Mr Waldrum can take us to that level”. He added

It would be recalled that in October 2017, Waldrum was appointed to be a technical adviser and head coach of the Super Falcons, but he rejected the offer.
