Music Canada has published the Platinum certification of Wizkid and Drake’s 2017 single ‘Come Closer’.
The announcement was made via their Twitter handle on the 15th of January 2021 confirmed that ‘Come Closer’ is now officially certified platinum.
The tweets reads;
“Come Closer,” the 2017 single by Nigerian artist @wizkidayo ft. @Drake, is now officially certified Canadian Platinum!
According to their site, Music Canada recognizes the following Single Award tiers: Gold: 40,000 Units. Platinum: 80,000 Units. Multi-Platinum: 160,000 Units (increments of 80,000 thereafter)
Consequently, Wizkid is officially the first African musician to go platinum in Canada.
