The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) on Saturday held a maiden Media parley in conjunction with NasTV Africa, a subsidiary of D-Positive Global Image Services Consult.
ASKOMP hosted a veteran journalist and NBC regulator, Alhaji Nurudeen Imam at NasTV Africa studio in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.
The maiden media parley was born out of the association’s leadership commitment and drive to improve members’ skills towards using media to ensure public safety, security, community and national development. It’s also a partnership with the Online Mentorship Organization headed by D-Positive Image CEO/President, Nasir Abdulquadri.
ASKOMP members led its Chairman and Publisher of Informant247, Salihu Shola Taofeek engaged Alhaji Nurudeen Imam, a former KwaraTV General Manager, spokesman to four military/civilian governors and NBC Regulator on the theme: ”Human Capital Development as a veritable tool to youth restiveness and security in Nigeria”.
Alhaji Nurudeen Imam hailed the umbrella body of professional Online Media practitioners in Kwara state and NasTV Africa CEO for the initiative aimed at promoting peace, public safety and drive development through dissemination of factual as well as credible information.
He, therefore, charged ASKOMP members to focus on critical issues such as climate change, environment, national unity and other societal challenges.
Mr. Nasir Abdulquadri in his remarks urged the youth to shun the secession agitation, noting that ‘It’s time to preach the message of one Nigeria, unity and peaceful coexistence. Secession will not automatically end all the challenges facing this country.”
Abdulquadri said their organization was established to create a mentorship platform for African youth through building leaders, supporting entrepreneurs, developing human capital and showcasing African talents.
