Leading African EdTech startups, KidsTech Africa has unveiled a contest that gives a platform to young African kids to showcase innovation and creativity in the area of technology.
The contest named Africa Young Innovation Challenge will showcase the best of what African kids can do in the field of technology.
In a statement made available to the public, Strategy lead for KidsTech Africa, Ishola Kayode said kids that have any of the African countries as their country of origin can apply for the multistage challenge.
All You Need to know about the Africa Young Innovators Challenge (AYIC)
The African Young Innovators Challenge (AYIC) is an annual contest that gives a platform to young African kids to showcase innovation and creativity in the area of technology.
It is a program developed by KidsTech Africa – an Innovative edutech startup that is helping African Kids take advantage of the opportunities in the tech world. The vision of KidsTech Africa is to build a generation of young people that will transform Africa’s tech ecosystem from being consumers of technology to innovators and producers.
The contest is open to kids within the ages of 6-15 and has a winning prize of 5000USD which will cover cash prizes and other benefits.
For the maiden edition (AYIC2021), Innovations in the areas of SECURITY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT would be considered.
The maiden edition of the contest will commence in the month of September 2021 where registration will be opened and will last for a period of 3weeks. After which successful candidates that make it past the first stage will be notified for the next activities.
The grand finale where the top innovators will be unveiled will come up in November 2021.
