Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen has said that his team will approach their 2021 AFCON Round of 16 tie against Tunisia the same way they did against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria will face one of the North Africa team, Tunisia in the AFCON last-16 on Sunday night following the conclusion of the Group stages matches on Thursday.

Nigeria’s reward for finishing top of Group D is a second-round clash with Tunisia, who finished as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Ahead of the round of16 tie on Sunday, Eguavoen revealed that his team would play with the same passion and style they have shown in the tournament, adding that they will also practice penalties.

“Going into the round of 16, same approach, same system, same aggression, and we are going to train more on penalties,”

Eguavoen disclosed this during his post-match press conference after Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles defeated Tunisia in the third-place match of the AFCON 2019 in Egypt, thanks to Odion Ighalo’s early goal.
