Mallam Saliu Mustapha who is the Turaki of Ilorin and founder of Saliu Mustapha Foundation had in the past presented empowerment funds to beneficiaries across Kwara state. The last was the 10th Grassroots Sustainable Empowerment program held at Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, Mallam Salihu Mustapha donated more than #200,000,000 to beneficiaries.
In his address during the program, the Ilorin-born philanthropist cum politician said he initiated the empowerment programme about 15 years ago to help the state in poverty eradication strides and improve the human capital development index in all the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state. This is the philosophy that he stands for and he has to keep standing by this.
In furtherance of philanthropic feats and to complement the unprecedented investment of the state Government in Water projects across the state, the Turaki of Ilorin is to execute a multimillionaire water project in all the seventeen wards of Asa Local council.
This was announced yesterday in Asa LGA of Kwara State when he paid a visit to political leaders in the local government.
According to him, the seventeen ultramodern solar-powered boreholes would ease the challenge of water supply in the Local government once completed. And this is a way of complimenting the numerous efforts of the incumbent governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in providing water to Kwarans.
According to him, If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water and water is the driving force of all nature as such every kindhearted philanthropist must come together to join this government in providing water to the masses. He added, Safe and affordable drinking water is part of the Sustainable Development Goals and the target is to see that by 2030, achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that Kwara and Nigeria aren’t left behind.
Mallam Saliu Mustapha lastly appreciated the executive governor of Kwara State Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for leading the Kwara project with substantial focus. This he said is gradual but going steadily.
