– Perpetrators of this acts must be found and Punished
Following the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Elections for Houses of Assembly and National Assembly, Comr. Habib Lawal Ajibola, APC Chairman of Ilorin East has been serially attacked by armed thugs in near death experiences that have left his vehicle badly damaged and him injured severely.
Comr. Habib Lawal Ajibola has always been committed to ensuring the overall success of all activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and is known by all to be gentle and down to earth refraining from actions capable of inciting violent responses from others or provoking them to act in the ways we have witnessed in the manner and nature of these violent attacks on a loyal party man which were clearly aimed at taking his life if he was not rescued miraculously at all the instances the attackers struck.
Investigations into the attacks against Comr. Habib Lawal on Thursday, 26th May at Banquet Hall, Ilorin and Saturday, 28th May at Mararaba when he was in Company of the S.S.A to the Governor on Security driving have linked the acts allegedly to Individuals and groups of Aspirants who lost in the just concluded Primary Elections for House of Assembly and National Assembly respectively. The latest attack which happened on Sunday, 29th May, 2022 along Geri Alimi Odota when he was driving with his personal vehicle in company of his Younger brother, Tope has been linked to Ambassador Yahaya Seriki whose thugs numbering about ten (10) attacked the Party Chairman in a bike assault fashion smashing the windscreen of the vehicle conveying him and dragged him out with the aim to lynch life out of him.
Comr. Habib’s only crime may be that of been just a loyal and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State but however this is not worth the multiple attacks and threat to his life. The elements responsible for this assault must be reminded that the era of Violent Politics is over in Kwara and differences between Party members can be better resolved through dialogue and a pleathora of non violent approaches.
These acts of extreme violence against Comr. Habib have stained the integrity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and threaten the peace we have enjoyed in the party for the last 3 years. Leaders of the Kwara APC under His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Prince Sunday Fagbemi must call all members of the APC in Kwara to order and those who have shown this clueless lack of care for human life should be fished out and prosecuted. Order and decorum must return to the party as we are not at war. If we cannot tolerate one another in an Intra Party election, what would be expected of us in the general election.
Comr. Habib Lawal Ajibola remains loyal to His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the All Progressives Congress led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi. This ugly developments will not weaken his passion and devotion to work in the interest of the people.
We need Peace and not War in Kwara APC, let’s always remember, No Election is worth the life of any Kwara We owe ourselves a duty of care to one another as we prepare for the 2023 general elections.
