A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kwara state, Comr. Abdulrasheed Akogun has described the death of the Elesa of Oke-Ode, Oba Abdulkadir Adelodun as a personal loss, adding that he has lost a strong pillar of support.

The Oke-Ode born journalist turned politician while lamenting the death of the revered monarch said “This death is one too many, it is a personal loss to me, my family and campaign team. It’s coming when several of Kabiesi’s plans and prayers for Oke-Ode remains unfulfilled.

“He was one of the earliest believers in my aspiration to represent Share/Oke-Ode at the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly, which he supported in no small measure.

“Not minding political correctness and likely victimization, he threw his weight behind my aspiration, stressing that it will be to his glory if one of his subjects, especially a dear son, is elected a member of the 10th House of Assembly.

“He was a king decades before his time, Oke-Ode township and environs witnessed tremendous transformations under his reign, he prioritized the interest of the town, environs and its people over any other consideration”, he stressed.

Akogun while extending his condolences enjoined the deceased family, Oke-Ode township and environs to take solace in the fact that he lived a life of sacrifice worthy of emulation.
