The Village Headmaster series, sponsored by Globacom, is currently sailing into its 18th episode. Past episodes have shown that there’s never a dull moment in Oja Village and this new episode will be no different.

This new episode opens with the headmaster seriously scolding teacher Iginla over the recent happenings in the school. The situation had deteriorated to the point that parents were flogged, in an attempt to prevent Teacher Iginla from making money off the students. It seems like the Headmaster is determined to ensure that Teacher Iginla faces the consequences of his actions. But will Teacher Iginla, in his usual manner, shift the blame and as such, the disciplinary actions meted out to him, to someone else? Or will he, for the first time, take responsibility for his actions?

Good news seems to be heading straight for Oja Village. Councillor Kogberegbe informs the Kabiyesi and council of elders that the government is planning to distribute relief materials to various communities including Oja Village. However, not all council elders are happy about this piece of information. Chief Eleyinmi for one, raises concerns about Jebako receiving the government’s relief materials on behalf of Oja Village and what this could mean for the plans for autonomy for the people of Oja Village. Will his fears prove valid and the plans for autonomy hinder Oja Village from obtaining relief from the government? Or will Councillor Kogberegbe work his magic to secure what is due for the people of Oja?

Meanwhile, at Madam Folake’s shop, her cousin, who is also one of the village’s councillors stopped for a visit. While they discussed the issues of autonomy for the village, his political ambitions and ongoing plans, they may have unknowingly given Madam Gbeke more information for the gossip mills. In this episode, it will be interesting to find out how Madam Gbeke will spin this newly gleaned information around Oja Village.

Prince Dagbolu seems to be in high spirits in this episode, especially with the return of his son Olayinka, from the United States. As it turns out, Olayinka’s return is not merely a social visit. He is bound for Sweden to visit his fiancé’s family and has requested that Prince Dagbolu and the family accompany him on this trip. Guess the question now is, will Prince Dagbolu agree to travel with all his wives or will he have to choose one? Who would he choose to go with him and why? If he can afford the trip for all, why choose at all? For answers to these questions, we would just have to wait and watch …
