    Bundies Care Support Initiative in Collaboration with Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Commemorates Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) 2022

    Bundies Care Support Initiative collaborated with the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) on anti-cancer sensitization in Kwara State along side other partners, MWAN Kwara State Branch, OCI foundation, Quintha Health and Youth Health Action.

    In Commemoration of Pink October which is global event. Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Sensitization Program
    was held by the organization at the Police Headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State of Nigeria. The Kwara State Commissioner for Police, CP Paul Odama, along with his wife Mrs. Lucy Odama, was the chief host of the event.

    Mrs. Funmilayo Adefila-Osiegbu, the Executive Director of Bundies Care Support Initiative and a key member of the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), facilitated the event. She is also the focal person of the OCI Foundation’s Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Anti-cancer Health Campaign with the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Kwara State, Nigeria.

    Bundies Care is a notable organization that has made its mark in the cancer prevention, sensitization, and support niche. The foundation for the past 3 years has always marked October Cancer Awareness Month in grand style. In 2020, the organization organized a historic sensitization walk in collaboration with the office of the First Lady of Kwara State Amb. Dr. Olufolake Abdulrasak where major stakeholders and organizations were brought together to sensitize, create awareness as well as offer free screening for women. In 2021, Bundies care in collaboration with MWAN Kwara Branch took their campaign and screening to major markets in Ilorin where hundreds of women from the grassroots were screened, and counseled also had a school Outreach At Queen Elizabeth School Ilorin. Kwara State.

    OCI Foundation was also represented by Mr. Emeka Ngele, another anchor of the ArOY Health Campaign with the Kwara State NYSC, who delivered talks that gave insights on the works of OCI Foundation among Nigerian youths, which are being delivered mainly through the NYSC.

    Mr. Ngele revealed that the OCI Foundation has introduced the CerviBreast Mobile Phone Application, a unique innovation that is available for free to all Nigerians in the fight against the two cancers.

    The OCI Foundation thanked the ED of Bundies Care Support Initiative, Mrs. Funmi Adefila, and her team also extending their appreciation to POWA.

    Bundies care continues to offer support and timely interventions in the cancer space. Last December, the Founder, and Executive Director, Mrs. Funmi Adefila made the list of the 20 most impactful women in Kwara where women from across different sectors were honored for their resilience and contributions to the development of Kwara, Nigeria, and the world over.
