When Omotayo Oke; the celebrated Nigerian model first had her big break 4 years ago when she walked the runway at the Arise Fashion week, one of Nigeria’s biggest fashion shows, only a few knew they had just witnessed the unveiling of Africa’s next big model. She hasn’t stopped ever since even though the pandemic wreaked havoc on the world economy and made fashion and modeling crawl just like the others.
Ms Omotayo as she is fondly called by fans and her numerous admirers was in Europe; Paris to be precise when the pandemic struck. She had to return to Nigeria her country of birth to weather the storm and prepare herself more for the numerous opportunities which were to come after the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.
Omotayo has made her mark in the Nigerian space haven worked with designers such as Nehera, Tatras, Laquan Smith, Thebe Magugu, Threeasfour, Lisa Folawiyo, Banke Kuku, Andrea Iyamah, Odio Mimonet, Yutee Rone, Mowalola, Deola Sagoe, “Ajabeng.gh”, Mafimafi, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, and many others.
She has walked Paris Fashion Week, Arise Fashion Week, African Fashion Week, GTBANK Fashion Week, and Lagos Fashion Week, amongst many others. Omotayo has also worked with some outstanding Lebanese designers Like Georges Hobeika, Saiid Kobeisy has been featured in many fashion magazines and has won awards.
On why she chose to model, Omotayo revealed she has always had a keen interest in the spotlight, Fashion, and Art. This inspired her to pursue modelling as a career. She also loves the idea of being an aide in representing and promoting brands and products. She has acted professionally in the Modeling Industry since 2019.
In late 2022, Omotayo Oke was signed to a Chinese-based agency where she currently works. She is working on many amazing projects with her agency in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing.
