… commends youth for taking bold steps to contest during the election
Youth O’clock Coalition, YOC congratulates Rukayat Shittu, Member-Elect, Owode Onire Constituency, Asa LGA of Kwara State over her success at the March 18 elections.
It would be recalled that Shittu contested for the Kwara State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The coalition expressed its happiness over the electoral success of the young lawmaker-to-be in a statement jointly signed by its Director General, Comrade Dr Dere Ismail Gbolahan and the Director for Media Publicity, Comrade Atolagbe Idris Babatunde.
The statement reads: Your triumph has envisioned great hope for the Youth as Leaders of tomorrow. We trust your enthusiasm for Youth Programmes in the State through advocacy as our Ambassador and wish you well as you position yourself in Leadership. Kindly accept our heartfelt warm wishes.
The coalition also commended the efforts of other youths who contested during state assembly elections but were unlucky as they could not realize their political ambitions.
The statement enlisted those who could not secure victory during the assembly elections as follows; PDP’s Salaudeen Lukman from the Ojomu/Balogun, Offa LGA; Hon. Bello Sikirulahi Abolaji of the YPP from Ojomu/Balogun, Offa LGA; Dapo Omokanye of the NNPP from Oke-Ogun, Oyun LGA; Hon. Dunmoye Ayobami Yahaya of LP from Lanwa/Ejidongari Constituency, Moro LGA.
