Kwara House Assembly Member, Hon. Maryam Yusuf Aladi representing Ilorin South State Constituency has stated that She is funding community intervention projects from her purse.
Hon Maryam Yusuf Aladi disclosed this on Thursday during an Interactive Session with the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP).
She also attributed her modest performance within six months to the conducive atmosphere created by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The Deputy Chief Whip said she has constructed one block of three classrooms, offers scholarships to over 500 students in primary/secondary schools, and other community interventions from her purse.
She also promised to attract development to every part of Ilorin South including rural communities.
Her words: “I will ensure we touch people’s lives positively by ameliorating their suffering. We assisted some communities in Akanbi Ward I & II to address the water supply challenge and connect transformers to power after 10 years of neglect.
“I visited Joromoh Osin community with the honorable Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Usman Lade with the view of fixing water works supplying the water. I am sure something positive is happening in the community now.”
Speaking on her Widows Support Scheme, Aladi more widows across 11wards in local government areas would benefit from the next phase of the program.
The entrepreneur-turned-politician applauded ASKOMP members for creating job opportunities and sustainable means of employment.
Earlier in his remarks, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek said the Association will continue to uphold the ethics of journalism and give every stakeholder a fair hearing in their reports.
