The Sobi FM Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara state council in collaboration with the Nigerian Media Parliament (NMP), is set to host it’s third Strategic Media Seminar, with the Founder of MOK Foundation and Principal Partner, Luxiar Construction Company, Muyideen Okunola Kayode, billed to deliver the keynote address.
The seminar, themed “Bridging the gap between Government Social Investment Program and Private Grassroot Philanthropy,” is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the corporate office of Sobi FM, located along Sobi Road, Ilorin.
Kayode, a quantity surveyor and realtor, who has built over 10,000 houses for individuals and groups, is a philanthropist who has chosen to give back to society, especially the underprivileged, through his foundation, conceptualized in 2023.
According to the Organising secretary Dare Akogun the seminar will bring together journalists from various media organisations and correspondents from major national newspapers across the country.
“The seminar will critically examine the media’s role in shaping and supporting the functions of Nigeria’s social investment program within the broader poverty alleviation process,” Akogun said.
The seminar promises to give an interactive platform for stakeholders to engage with the vital role of private individuals in supporting government policy in eradicating poverty through empowerment in the country.
