Gombe FA Ex Chairman, Gara Gombe, has branded the newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, as a ‘kindergarten coach.’ He says the Football Federation made a mistake by appointing a lightweight coach to handle heavyweight player.
Chelle was named Super Eagles coach on Tuesday night, January 7. The NFF Executive Committee endorsed the decision. This followed a recommendation by its Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
The 47year-old is a former international player with five caps for the Aiglons of Mali. His coaching résumé includes stints at GS Consolat, FC Martigues, Boulogne, and MC Oran.
Who is Chelle? Who knows him? What was his antecedent? Nothing. For goodness sake, all this waiting since AFCON in Ivory Coast, we cannot get a coach. “ Gombe told Brila FM.
“After all these years, we ended up appointing a kindergarten coach. This coach is now managing the world-class players that we have. It is really unfortunate”
