Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Facilitates Nearly ₦2 Billion TETFund Proposals for Federal Polytechnic Offa

Federal Polytechnic Offa is poised for a significant infrastructural leap as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), through the active facilitation of its North Central representative on the Board of Trustees, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, has proposed nearly ₦2 billion worth of development interventions for the institution.

The intervention package includes a landmark ₦1 billion Public-Private Partnership (PPP) hostel construction project, a ₦400 million upgrade of laboratories and workshop equipment, and a proposed ₦500 million security infrastructure intervention, which is currently under consideration.

These proposed projects are expected to significantly improve the academic environment, enhance students’ welfare, and strengthen the Polytechnic’s technical training capabilities. Stakeholders have described the development as a welcome milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence and operational efficiency.

“This is a major boost that speaks to the power of quality representation and strategic engagement at the national level,” said a statement from local academic leaders and alumni. “Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi’s work at TETFund continues to open new frontiers for institutions in the North Central region.”

The Polytechnic’s windfall follows a pattern of impactful outcomes driven by Engr. Adeyemi’s tenure on the Board. Earlier this year, the University of Ilorin secured ₦4 billion for infrastructural upgrades, a ₦750 million hostel development, and a ₦2.5 billion Medical Simulation Laboratory. The College of Education, Oro, also recently received a ₦2 billion Special High Impact Project (SHIP) aimed at revitalizing its educational infrastructure.

These interventions reflect a growing wave of renewed investment across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions—focused not just on brick-and-mortar expansion, but on long-term institutional strengthening, innovation, and competitiveness in the global education space.

The leadership and policy alignment of the Federal Ministry of Education have also been instrumental in creating the enabling framework for these achievements. Stakeholders acknowledged the roles of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, for their dedication to education reform and infrastructure equity. The synergy with the TETFund Board of Trustees, chaired by Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, and the operational expertise of Arc. Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, was also praised for making these transformative initiatives possible.

As the Polytechnic prepares for implementation and awaits final clearance on the proposed security component, excitement continues to grow within the academic and host communities.

“This is more than funding—it’s a signal of confidence in the institution’s future and a major step toward elevating its capacity to produce skilled, future-ready graduates,” the statement concluded.
