The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, 2025, as a public holiday. It has also declared Monday, June 9, 2025, as a public holiday. These holidays are to commemorate the Eid-ul-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir) celebration.

This announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world. He urged them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith. These values were demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).

He encouraged Muslims to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.

The minister also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to reforms aimed at national development. He noted that the initiatives under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are designed to set the country back on the path of progress.

He called on Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in rebuilding the nation and promoting collective growth.
