As anticipation builds ahead of the President Federation Cup Final between Kwara United and Abakaliki FC, a passionate appeal has been made to the Harmony Boys to defy all odds and deliver the historic trophy to Kwara State.

Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun (ENACT), a prominent sports enthusiast from Kwara South and a board member North Central of TETFUND, in a statement expressed his unwavering support for the team, emphasizing that the time has come for Kwara to claim national glory.

“Kwara United has come a long way from the Round of 62 to the final. This is the moment to make history at the national level. The entire state and indeed the North Central zone are behind the team,” he declared.

The final is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 28, at the Onikan Waterfront Stadium in Lagos.

Engr. Adeyemi called on the players and officials to stay focused, committed, and united in their quest to bring home the Federation Cup, marking the state’s first major national football trophy since its creation.

“This team must block out distractions and give their all on the pitch. Winning this title will not only be a landmark achievement for the club but also a worthy reward for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s continuous investment in football and sports development in Kwara State,” he noted.

A known supporter of sports advancement in Kwara, especially during the recent National Sports Festival, Engr. Adeyemi praised the strides made in youth and grassroots sports and believes Kwara United’s success will further boost morale across the state.

“Let us make this a turning point for football in Kwara. Go out there, give it everything, and make the state and region proud.”
