The Board of Trustees (BoT) member representing the North Central zone on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, has embarked on a familiarisation tour of tertiary institutions in Kogi State.

During the visit, Engr. Adeyemi toured the Federal University, Lokoja; Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa; Federal College of Education, Okene; Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja; to assess the level of development and TETFund interventions in the institutions over the years.

The visit, which forms part of his ongoing courtesy tour across the North Central zone, provided an opportunity for the BoT member to advocate for closer collaboration between TETFund and beneficiary institutions in order to accelerate the developmental agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa.

Engr. Adeyemi also inspected some distressed projects within the institutions, stressing the need to ensure that such facilities are completed and put to use to enhance instructional and administrative capacity.

He further reiterated the direction of the Fund under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Arc. Sonny S. T. Echono, Executive Secretary, affirming TETFund’s commitment to supporting all aspects of institutional development aimed at deepening productivity and producing the skilled human assets required both locally and globally.

In their separate remarks, the management of the visited institutions commended Engr. Adeyemi for the initiative, describing it as the first of its kind in the state.

They acknowledged TETFund as the primary lifeline for public tertiary institutions in Nigeria and expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for safeguarding the Fund during the recent tax reform exercise.
