    ANA Re-elects Dr. Usman Oladipo Akanbi as National President for Second Term

    The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has re-elected Dr. Usman Oladipo Akanbi as its National President for a second term, spanning 2025-2027.

    The election, held on November 1, 2025, at the Mamman Vatsa Writers Village in Abuja, was described as peaceful, free, credible, and transparent.

    The electoral committee, chaired by Engr. Emmanuel Frank-Opigo, received commendations for conducting a fair and professional process. Several national officers retained their positions, including Prof. Obari Gomba, Dame Dr. Joan Oji, and Dr. Keyna C. Eshika, among others. New entrants to the National Executive Council include Barr. Murphy Biriabebe as Treasurer and Richard Inya as Publicity Secretary (South).

    Dr. Akanbi expressed gratitude to ANA members, the Board of Trustees, and the Advisory Council for their support.

    He pledged to consolidate the gains of his first term, promote unity, and ensure inclusivity and transparency in the association’s growth.
