A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of 16 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) while they were travelling from Ondo State to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Gombe State.

Two other students survived the accident but remain in critical condition at a local hospital.

The victims were all graduates of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) in Ondo State. They were travelling in an 18-seater bus when the crash occurred. Emergency responders quickly recovered the bodies and transported the injured to nearby medical facilities for urgent care.

As of now, the NYSC Management has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Authorities, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), are currently investigating the cause of the crash.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the NYSC community and serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of road safety for all travelers.
