Gauteng police have arrested a 26-year-old woman in connection with the killings of a principal and an administrative assistant at Inxiweni Primary School in Tembisa, South Africa.

Police spokesperson Col Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday and is expected to appear in Tembisa court on November 21, 2025.

The victims, principal Nozibele Tabu, 58, and admin assistant Nobantu Njomboni, 55, were reportedly preparing for a meeting when a gunman allegedly entered the administration block and shot them on Tuesday. Officers arrived shortly after 4 p.m. and found both women lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

The motive for the attack remains unclear, with investigators still working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Adding to the tragedy, some family members first learned of the incident through social media, highlighting the shock and distress caused by the event.
