Miss Mexico Crowned Miss Universe Following Viral Confrontation With Pageant Official

Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, has officially been crowned Miss Universe 2025, concluding one of the most controversial and drama-filled pageant seasons in recent history.

The 25-year-old made headlines earlier in November after she walked out of a Miss Universe event when a Thai official publicly scolded her in front of fellow contestants and even threatened to disqualify anyone who supported her. Bosch left the room, joined by several contestants—including reigning Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark—in a show of solidarity.

The controversy deepened when two judges resigned, with one accusing the organizers of manipulating the competition.

Despite the turmoil, the grand finale took place on Thursday night at the Impact Challenger Hall in Bangkok, Thailand, where Fátima Bosch emerged victorious as the new Miss Universe 2025.

The first runner-up title went to Praveenar Singh, 29, of Thailand, while Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser, 25, of Venezuela, placed third. Completing the top five were Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines, and Olivia Yacé, 27, of Ivory Coast, who finished in fifth place.

More than 130 contestants from around the world competed at the 74th Miss Universe final, which carried the theme “The Power of Love.”

Last year’s winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, made history as the first-ever Danish Miss Universe.
