Leo netted our first goal to open the floodgates, and from then on it was virtually one-way traffic, as we stormed to a 4-1 win.
After the game the Belgian reflected on the win and his opening goal. “I enjoyed that a lot!” he beamed.
“I think it was important to get that goal. After that it gave us the edge to go on and score more goals, to create chances. I think we were dominant before, but obviously that gives you that extra bit of confidence to go and win the game. It was a perfect night for us.
“It was a really good game overall in every aspect, from defence to attack. We’re really happy with all the goals we scored as well.”
Leo also gave credit to the supporters, for generating an incredible atmosphere, that began before kick off with a stunning tifo display in the North Bank.
“We need that. Today, especially, I know the history with the north London derby, but every game it’s so important that they can push us forward in difficult moments. It helps us as players and it was just great.”
The win made it four successive Premier League wins against Tottenham, and took us six points clear at the top of the table, with 12 games gone. Plenty of reason then, to celebrate in the dressing room after the game.
“It was just joy!” Leo said about the post-match feeling. “Everyone was cheering, there’s not much to say about it. That’s what we really wanted and it’s nice that we could give this back to the fans. The atmosphere was amazing, it was so good, they pushed us forward as well. So yeah, it’s a really good night today.”
