Nigerian rap icon Olamide has finally addressed one of the biggest misconceptions about his personality — the belief that he is shy.
In a recent conversation on Ada’s Room, Olamide explained that people often misinterpret his calm, reserved nature.
“One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back,” he said.
When asked to clarify the difference, the YBNL boss offered a clear breakdown:
“Shy is when you don’t have the confidence or charisma to stand people, look them in the eye or hold conversations. But being laid back is you just don’t want to be bothered. People think I am shy but I am not.”
Olamide noted that he simply values his space and prefers to avoid unnecessary noise — not because he lacks confidence, but because he chooses peace over chaos.
