Reality TV star Mercy Eke has opened up about her views on motherhood and marriage, revealing that she wouldn’t mind having a child outside wedlock if life takes her in that direction.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner clarified that while it’s not something she is actively pursuing, she would keep the baby if she ever got pregnant before marriage.
Mercy shared that she hopes to have three children, preferably girls, and emphasized that marriage isn’t a prerequisite for starting a family.
She further addressed societal stigma, saying that negative perceptions about single mothers mainly affect women who are struggling financially or professionally. “The problem is only for women who don’t have things going well,” she explained, insisting that successful single mothers often still have men interested in marrying them.
Mercy also revealed that she has suitors but hasn’t found the right partner yet. She made it clear that even if she became a single mother, it wouldn’t prevent her from marrying in the future.
