Dancer and reality TV star Liquorose has shared an emotional story about her earlier attempt to join Big Brother Naija, revealing that she almost made it into the show in 2020 before an unexpected setback stopped her at the last minute.
Speaking on a podcast with VJ Adams, Liquorose explained that she had already completed all screening stages and was fully dressed, with her makeup done, waiting backstage during the 2020 live launch show. However, just before she was meant to enter the house, she was informed that she had been dropped from the lineup.
The shocking news left her deeply discouraged and made her question whether she still wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a BBNaija housemate.
She later learned that both she and another hopeful, Jaypaul, had tested positive for COVID-19, making them ineligible for that year’s edition.
The disappointment affected her so much that she almost skipped auditions the following year. But after encouragement from a friend, she reluctantly auditioned again in 2021 — and eventually found her acceptance email sitting unnoticed in her spam folder.
Liquorose went on to join the 2021 edition of Big Brother Naija, finishing as the season’s runner-up behind Whitemoney.
