The incident reportedly took place on November 10, 2025, at an apartment in Kawo, where Victoria had accompanied her colleague, 28-year-old Shadrach Michael, to pick up items for his birthday. Trouble allegedly began when Shadrach’s girlfriend, Chioma Michael, arrived at the apartment unannounced. Chioma is said to have poured boiling water on Victoria, causing burns on her face, chest, back, and hands.
Victoria was reportedly locked inside the apartment for several hours without medical attention before being taken to Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital and later transferred to a clinic in Nomansland.
Police have arrested Chioma, and her mother was also taken in to compel her appearance. The case has been transferred to Bompai Police Headquarters for further investigation. During a recent court hearing, Chioma was remanded at Goron Dutse Correctional Centre until December 9. She faces charges of attempted culpable homicide, an offense that carries a life sentence or, in some cases, the death penalty.
Victoria’s family maintains that she and Shadrach were only co-workers and dismissed any rumors of a romantic involvement. Victoria is reportedly responding well to treatment
