Reality star and billionaire entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has revealed that long before SKIMS, beauty deals, and global fame, she faced serious financial struggles.
In her new MasterClass, Kardashian spoke about the early days of running Dash, the boutique she opened with her sisters Kourtney and Khloé in 2006. She explained that she and Khloé had such poor credit at the time that they couldn’t even get a credit card approved. The sisters had to rely on Kourtney, who had the strongest credit score among them.
“We were able to get a credit card solely in Kourtney’s name because she had the best credit,” Kim said, noting that they used the card to purchase all the store’s inventory.
She admitted that they often struggled to pay vendors on time, paying upfront whenever possible. Even the store lease was made possible only because they inherited a small sum from their late father, Robert Kardashian.
“We would pay just the minimum every month… we just didn’t have the money,” Kim recalled.
Her candid reflection provides a rare glimpse into the challenges she faced before becoming a global entrepreneur, highlighting that even high-profile celebrities often navigate financial hurdles in the early stages of their careers.
