A man attempting to rob a house in Kota, Rajasthan, ended up trapped in a kitchen exhaust fan vent, police said. The unusual incident occurred early Sunday, January 4, after the homeowners returned from a temple visit.
According to The Times of India, the suspect, identified as Pavan from Digod village in Kota district, became lodged halfway through the vent shaft. The upper half of his body was inside the house, while his legs dangled outside. His accomplice reportedly fled the scene as Pavan got stuck.
The homeowners, Subhash Kumar Rawat and his wife, discovered Pavan while entering their home at around 1 a.m. and immediately called the police. Officers rescued Pavan by pulling him fully into the kitchen before taking him into custody.
Authorities also recovered a car key from Pavan and seized a vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects. The car, reportedly with a police sticker and white curtains, is under investigation.
Police said they are actively tracing the accomplice who escaped.
