A family of six has been found dead in Ogale community, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, sparking shock and concern among residents.
The deceased—identified as Obele Theophilus, his wife, their children, and his brother-in-law—reportedly went to bed on Saturday night but did not wake up on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026.
According to neighbours, suspicion arose when the family’s door remained locked well into the morning hours. After repeated attempts to get a response failed, residents forced the door open and discovered the bodies inside the apartment.
Sources said the man and the children were found on the bed, the wife was discovered in the bathroom, while the brother-in-law was found near the entrance, suggesting he may have attempted to open the door.
Community members revealed that the family had planned to return to Port Harcourt after the holiday period before the tragic incident occurred.

As of the time of this report, the cause of death remains unclear, with no official explanation provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
