Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Calvin Bassey have been named in the Team of the Tournament for the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco.

The CAF Technical Study Group (TSG) announced the squad on Wednesday, recognising players who delivered standout performances in their respective positions during the competition.

Osimhen scored four goals and provided two assists, playing a pivotal role as Nigeria secured AFCON bronze for the ninth time.

Lookman topped the tournament in goal contributions, scoring four times and assisting three goals, earning him a spot in the best XI for the second consecutive AFCON.

Bassey, the 26-year-old defender, was the backbone of Nigeria’s defence, helping the Super Eagles maintain clean sheets throughout the knockout stages.

Other notable inclusions in the team are Sadio Mané, named the tournament’s best player; Brahim Diaz, the Golden Boot winner and top scorer; and Yassine Bono, recognised as the best goalkeeper of the competition.

The selections highlight the impact of Nigeria’s players on the continental stage, showcasing a blend of attacking flair and defensive solidity that contributed to the country’s strong finish in Morocco.
