Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen has spoken out against what she described as a growing fashion trend of women going out without underwear.

Sharing her experience, the director recounted an incident at a salon where she said she felt uncomfortable after a female customer, who had come in for a pedicure, allegedly exposed herself unintentionally while lifting her leg during the procedure.

Stephen said the moment left her shocked and concerned about public decency. While acknowledging that people are free to make personal fashion choices, she advised women who prefer not to wear underwear to consider outfits that offer more coverage, such as trousers or longer dresses.

According to her, dressing in a way that preserves modesty can help prevent awkward situations in public spaces. Her comments have since sparked conversations online about personal freedom, fashion, and social expectations.
