Chelsea are close to completing Raheem Sterling’s departure, with the England forward expected to seal a move once final agreements are reached.
Discussions remain ongoing between the club and Sterling’s representatives, as both sides aim to resolve his future before Monday. Chelsea have made it clear they are open to letting the former Manchester City winger leave, and all parties are pushing for a swift resolution.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations are progressing positively. Writing on X, Romano stated that Sterling is prepared to make his move as talks continue.
“Raheem Sterling is expected to leave Chelsea in the next days and is ready to make his move soon. Chelsea and Sterling’s camp are in contact to find a solution before Monday, as Chelsea are prepared to let him leave. Talks are underway between parties,” Romano wrote.
Sterling joined Chelsea in 2022 but has faced uncertainty over his role at Stamford Bridge amid reduced opportunities in the squad.
The winger has been linked with several possible destinations as he looks to secure regular playing time. Reports also suggest he has yet to feature in a match this season and has been training separately after failing to complete a transfer away from the club before the August 2025 deadline.
