Students and staff of FUT Minna are up in arms against Governor Umaru Bago’s alleged plan to seize the university’s Bosso Campus land.
360vibezMedia gathered that the peaceful protest saw demonstrators marching through the campus, waving placards with messages like “Bago, Leave Bosso Campus Alone” and chanting slogans.
The protest opposes the Niger State Government’s plan to convert the campus into a State University Teaching Hospital, arguing it’s federally owned and shouldn’t be taken over.
ASUU Vice Chairman Ismail Loyeloke stated the state government’s actions are unlawful and called for authorities to intervene.
The demonstration was a collective effort by staff and students to raise awareness without disrupting academics.
The Niger State Government hasn’t responded officially, with the Deputy Governor’s office directing inquiries to the Health Commissioner.
