The remains of reality TV star, Patrick Fakoya aka Rico Swavey, who died on October 13, has been laid to rest. A funeral mass was held for him at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu Square and then his body was moved to the Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos, where he was laid to rest. Rico was involved in a car crash on October 11. He died from the injuries he sustained from the crash. He was 29 years old. Rico gained popularity when he participated in the BBNaija show in 2018. Armed bandits on Thursday blocked the Kaduna-Zaria road and kidnapped several commuters. The United States has promised to provide $1 million in humanitarian assistance for people affected by unprecedented flooding in Nigeria. The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved N470bn special fund in the 2023 budget for university revitalization and upward review of lecturers’ salaries. The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, made this known at a briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, October 19. She explained that the sum was specially provided in the allocation to education for upward adjustment of salaries for university lecturers and revitalization of universities.
