The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old strike conditionally, a member of the union’s National Executive Committee told Channels TV early Friday. ASUU decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday. The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has discharged the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. President Buhari has sworn in Justice Ariwoola Olukayode as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria CJN. Justice Ariwoola took the judicial oath of office in a brief ceremony at the Council Chambers in Abuja before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by the President today October 12.
