The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old strike conditionally, a member of the union’s National Executive Committee told Channels TV early Friday. ASUU decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday. The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has discharged the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu was prosecuted by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court in Abuja on a 15-count charge bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism, offenses he denied.
