After a police search spanning 20 years, a quarter shekel coin from as far back as 69 AD, one of only four of its kind known to exist and worth $1m, has been returned to the state of Israel. The silver coin was minted during a Jewish revolt nearly 2,000 years ago but stolen from Israel in 2002. The search for the coin began when the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) were told by informants that the coin had been taken by Palestinians from a hoard unearthed in the Ella Valley, south of Jerusalem. Iconic French Film director, Jean-Luc Godard has died by assisted suicide aged 91. Jean-Luc Godard, the French-Swiss director whose movies broke traditional cinema forms and heralded the radical New Wave film movement of the 1960s, died on Tuesday,  September 13. Godard died “peacefully” at his home in Rolle, Switzerland, according to a statement from his family. They added: “No official [funeral] ceremony will take place. He will be cremated.” The filmmaker used assisted suicide, which in his case was medically and legally validated, Godard’s legal counsel Patrick Jeanneret told Bloomberg News. An illegal refinery located at Agbor Road opposite PPMC Depot under the power line in Benin, has been destroyed by a Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering Team of the Nigeria Police. FIFA have summoned Byron Castillo to attend the hearing of their Appeals Commission on Thursday September 16, following new bombshell revelations that the Ecuador international confessed to being born in Colombia in an official investigation four years ago. In Sportsmail’s publication of Castillo’s interview with investigators, he admitted to using a false birth certificate, but the player’s lawyer claimed the new evidence was not admissible as the row between the two countries escalated. According to Spanish outlet Marca, Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal offered the Manchester United superstar a contract worth £210m for two seasons. National Association of Nigerian Students have called for the resignation of Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu, over the lingering strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. The call was made by the students who took to embarked on a protest along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. They accused the minister of having no interest to dialogue with ASUU to call off the strike. NANS Vice President (External Affairs), Akinteye Babatunde told Punch they would continue blocking the road until the Federal Government resolve the impasse with the lecturers. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will no longer conduct mop-up examination for candidates of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) who are not bio-metrically verified. The board made this known in its Weekly Bulletin of the office of the Registrar on Monday in Abuja. It said the move was to further strengthen the noose around examination malpractice. “The board has decided that the era whereby some candidates will present themselves at the examination venue and claim difficulty to be biometrically verified and expect the system to allow them to sit for the examination is gone for good.…
