Lagos State Police Command has said those arrested while participating in the EndSARS memorial arrested on Thursday, October 20, at Lekki tollgate have been released. Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin who described those arrested as “troublemakers”, said they were kept in police custody but were later released when normalcy returned. The remains of reality TV star, Patrick Fakoya aka Rico Swavey, who died on October 13, has been laid to rest. A funeral mass was held for him at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu Square and then his body was moved to the Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos, where he was laid to rest. Rico was involved in a car crash on October 11. He died from the injuries he sustained from the crash. He was 29 years old. Rico gained popularity when he participated in the BBNaija show in 2018. Armed bandits on Thursday blocked the Kaduna-Zaria road and kidnapped several commuters. Onyema Nwachukwu, Brigadier-General, Director of Army Public Relations, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army rescued five of the kidnapped commuters. The United States has promised to provide $1 million in humanitarian assistance for people affected by unprecedented flooding in Nigeria.
