he Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has resigned from office. Channels TV reports that Justice Muhammad resigned on Sunday night, June 26, citing ill-health as the reason for his decision. Information also has it that arrangements are ongoing to swear in the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria. Chairman the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig-General Mohamed Buba Marwa, has said that the case against embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, won’t be in court for long. Appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Hard Copy, Marwa said the conviction of two other defendants in the case is evidence that the matter will be treated with the urgency it deserves. Actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh has said that she believes that she will succeed as Deputy Governor of Rivers State. Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Nigeria for France. Though it’s unclear how long Tinubu will be away from the country, it was however learnt that he departed for France after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday morning, June 27. Premier League side, Arsenal have reportedly finalised the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City after agreeing personal terms with the Brazilian striker. According to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners had already agreed a £45million fee with City and the deal is now 100 percent done.
