The buses purchased for the transport of the National teams and delegations that took part in AFCON 2021 in Cameroon have gone missing barely two months after the closing ceremony of the 33rd edition of the tournament. Suspected kidnappers have abducted a popular radio and television evangelist, Apostle John Okoriko, in Akwa Ibom State. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has begun the disconnection of government offices in Niger State over a debt amounting to N1.9 billion. In an exercise carried out during the Easter holiday, the AEDC workers disconnected the state’s House of Assembly complex, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and water board among others. A 37-year-old primary school driver, Kingsley Okwumbu, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional center for allegedly defiling a three-year-old pupil of the school. DailyTrust reports that Okonkwo was on Tuesday, April 19, arraigned before a magistrate court in Ikeja for defilement and sexual assault. Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje did not take Okwumbu’s plea and ordered that he should be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
