The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports of the removal of Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, as its interim national chairman. The driver of the Bus Rapid Transit that 22-year-old Oluwabamise Ayanwole, took and thereafter went missing, has been arrested. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed this development and said a statement will be released soon. Recall, the Lagos Police Command had earlier issued a statement confirming that Oluwabamise Ayanwole had been found dead.

Suspended Nigerian police officer,  Abba Kyari and six others are to remain in custody of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency till March 14. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja gave the ruling on Monday March 7 following the arraignment of Kyari,  Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Sunday Ubua, Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP Bawa James, Inspector Simon Agirigba, Inspector John Nuhu, Chibuinna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne. The Federal Government on Monday March 7, inaugurated a seven-person committee to renegotiate the 2009 agreement reached with the Academic Student Union of Universities (ASUU). Recall that members of ASUU who are currently on one month warning strike which began on February 14, are seeking improved welfare, revitalization of public universities, and academic autonomy among other demands. The committee to renegotiate with the union is chaired by Pro-Chancellor, Alex Ekweme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Emeritus Professor Nimi Briggs. The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22-year-old lady who got missing in transit while on board a BRT bus on February 26 has been found dead. A statement released by CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, spokesperson of the state police command, says the corpse was found lying on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island. He stated that the corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.
