The federal government has said Nigeria is ready to sanction Russia for invading Ukraine once the United Nations ‘adopts and imposes sanctions’ on the country. “On imposing sanctions, this is going to be a collective action. A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Monday, further remanded Azeez Lawal, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos Island Branch B, for alleged murder. Forty-eight-year-old Lawal (alias Kunle Poly) is charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder and membership of an unlawful society. He is standing trial along with one Adekanbi Wahab, aged 38.
