Dr Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase, founder and executive chairman of Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Complete Sports newspapers, SuccessDigest and other online publications, has passed on to Glory. He died on Saturday, 26 February 2022 in Atlanta, United States of America (USA) after a brief illness. He was 71 years. Dr Ojeagbase hailed from Uzebba, Iuleha in Owan West of Edo State. Popularly known as Sunny Ojeagbase (or simply “S.O.”) before he added Emmanuel to his name, the late media entrepreneur broke into the national consciousness as the pioneer publisher of sports news in Nigeria when he established Sports Souvenir weekly newspaper in 1984.…

A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Monday, further remanded Azeez Lawal, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos Island Branch B, for alleged murder. Forty-eight-year-old Lawal (alias Kunle Poly) is charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder and membership of an unlawful society. He is standing trial along with one Adekanbi Wahab, aged 38. Chief Magistrate Linda Balogun remanded them at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, Lagos State. Although the charges were read to the defendants, their pleas were not taken. Marlians artiste, Zinoleesky, breaks silence following his arrest by the NDLEA over suspicion of illicit drug possession. It would be recalled that the singer alongside his labelmate, Mohbad were arrested at their residence following a raid by the drug agency. After being released from custody, Zinoleesky pledges to cooperate with the drug agency till their investigation is concluded and he becomes a free man once again. “Say no to Drugs, From now on me and my team will be fully Cooperative with NDLEA,” he said while appreciating fans for their support. Some Nigerians on Monday staged a peaceful protest in front of the Russian Embassy in Abuja over the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops. The protesters in their numbers wearing T-shirts with ‘Stop the W@r’ written on them chanted songs and displayed placards to express their grievances. The protesters include parents, siblings, pals, and loved ones of Nigerians stranded in Ukraine. They lamented the reports about the ordeal being faced by their loved ones in Ukraine, especially with many Nigerians prevented from crossing the border into Poland, Hungary and others. They, therefore, called for peace.

Liverpool defeated Chelsea to win the Carabao Cup after Kepa Arrizabalaga missed the decisive kick in a contest 11-10 shootout at Wembley.
