Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has imposed one-year imprisonment on one of the players of Ibrafix Football Club, Ilorin, Baraye Bamidele Saoban, for offenses bordering on love scam. According to The Informant247 Newspaper, Baraye, 25, who hails from Ilorin, was jailed alongside one Adaraloye Ezekiel, a native of Osi, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, for a similar offense. African Football’s ruling body, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reduced the twelve months ban on Enyimba midfielder and captain Austin Oladapo. Oladapo was initially banned for one year by CAF for testing positive for prednisolone in a test conducted in May. The initial ban meant he would stay away from all football-related activities until July 2022, but following an appeal, the midfielder has now been cleared to return on January 5 by the CAF Appeals Committee. The Central Bank of Nigeria has explained the importance of e-naira, a digital currency it promised to launch in the country by the end of 2021. According to the CBN, the country’s adoption of digital currency would boost cross-border trade and enable the apex bank to formulate better macroeconomic policies.
