Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has said that Nigeria is currently experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Osagie who disclosed this at the press briefing of the presidential steering committee on COVID-19 on Monday August 1, called for state participation in sample collection, reporting, and treatment of cases. According to him, only 17 states made data or sample submissions in the last cycle. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has denied claims made by businessman, Mompha, that the commission advised him to maintain a low profile following the arrest of Hushpuppi. Mompha in an interview with Daddy Freeze over the weekend said he went off social media after Hushpuppi’s arrest but was advised to come back online by the antigraft agency so it doesn’t appear he is involved in Hushpuppi’s criminal activities. Nigeria Olympics Team has finally gotten its first medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after Ese Brume grabbed a bronze medal after finishing third in the women’s long jump event in the early hours of Tuesday, August 3.
