The leader of a vigilante group, the Omudioga Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Alex Umezuruike, was reportedly beheaded by suspected cultists and his body cut into pieces. Nigeria’s chances of climbing the medal table at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 olympics have suffered a major setback after the athletics integrity unit (aiu) ruled that ten nigerian athletes are ineligible to participate. The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, secured the conviction of one Abubakar Abdulbashit Opeyemi, a final year student of the University of Ilorin, and two other undergraduate students charged with offenses bordering on love scam and internet fraud.
